SKILLZ PLUS DIVERSITY SOCCER TOURNAMENT

YOUNG PEOPLE AND YOUTH –  ESPECIALLY  WOMEN AND GIRLS SOCCER DEVELOPMENT TO HELP THEM GROW ON AND OF THE PITCH

Globally girls and women play football with great passion, in stadiums, streets, or on village pitches, with world-class equipment or hand-me-downs, with a professional player’s consummate skill or a beginner’s enthusiasm football is the global game for women and girls, cutting across all boundaries in terms of society, race, religion, ethnicity, and socioeconomic circumstances. We build partnerships with like-minded local and global organizations to deepen the social impact, implementing and supporting campaigns for women ‘s empowerment.

Yong people and the youth are our future and the the hope of our nation.  We shift our focus to how BIPOC youth ages 15- 24 have had to cope with the Pandemic since 2020. This allows us to include and work with a broad audience especially those in Social Work, Mental health and youth programs.  We ensure equity, diversity and inclusion

The Intended outcomes:

BIPOC individuals can sometimes be the “visible invisible”. The goal of some conversations that we organize reduces ethno-racial prejudice, stereotyping, racism and discrimination about BIPOC individuals; we promote the cultural, artistic, capacity building and leadership contributions made by BIPOC.

Engage professionals in artistic, curatorial, administrative, and project leadership.  Collaborate with different members of our community, including tertiary institutions, high schools, social services and the general public.  We seek to increase the provision of community spaces and platforms for minority groups, including BIPOC individuals, faith base minorities etc., to feel accepted when speaking their truth respectfully, without fear, intimidation or bias.

Creating public awareness campaigns through soccer to Prevent the spread of HIV and AIDS, through capacity building, leadership, and Sustainable Development skills.   Although women’s football has grown exponentially at all levels in recent times, the passion for and potential of the sport offers vast untapped opportunities.  At GLBC we take concrete steps to empower girls and women, make football a sport for all and advocating against and addressing Race, gender, and sexuality: through Education, Arts, Culture and Sports (soccer) girls are learning how to effectively advocate against anti-black racism, sexism, and Anti-LGBTQ discrimination.

WE GOVERN, LEAD AND STRIVE FOR GENDER BALANCE!

We Strive to achieve equilibrium in all we do. Exercise perspective and prioritize what is important, aligning the interests, expectations, and needs of those we work with. We Balance seriousness with humor, levity, and our work with our personal lives. With Agility, ask, evaluate, innovate, create, apply and deliver the best result for all.  Our goal is to support young people, especially girls to contribute to global society in accordance with their desire, opening untapped talents and skillz, creating physical spaces for mentorship  networks, and connections.  At the GLBC level, we have put investment in projects dedicated to youth programs/activities.  The long-standing lack of women in positions of responsibility in the football has been worrying, community means there have been limited voices to advocate for change.  Our organization, takes further concrete steps to address the historic shortfalls in resources, and representation while advocating for a global stand against gender discrimination through playing football. Nevertheless, the passion for the women’s game and its steady growth also demonstrates the vast untapped opportunities presented to the football  community, we focus on growing youth activities, getting more girls involved in it earlier, keeping more women in the game longer, and further leverage the empowerment of women and the societal benefits of football.
