HARAMBEECOUVER 2027 Afro Arts, Culture and Reconciliation Festival Home of Canada's First Diversity & Reconciliation Parade Theme: HANDS THAT BUILD. HANDS THAT HEAL. Harambeecouver 2027 is a free, inclusive celebration of African and Afro-diasporic arts, culture, heritage and community, bringing people together in Vancouver through music, dance, visual and literary arts, storytelling, food, crafts, cultural expression, sport and community dialogue. The festival celebrates both traditional and contemporary African cultures, while creating opportunities for communities of different backgrounds, ages and experiences to meet, learn from one another and build meaningful connections. Through performances, cultural presentations, a multicultural parade, marketplace, community conversations, soccer and other activities, Harambeecouver creates a space where culture becomes a bridge, diversity becomes a strength, and reconciliation becomes a shared responsibility. The festival recognizes the contributions of African, Indigenous and diverse communities to the social, cultural and economic life of Vancouver and Canada. It encourages people to move beyond simply acknowledging differences toward understanding, respect, healing and collective action. HANDS THAT BUILD. HANDS THAT HEAL. The hands that build our homes, communities, businesses, cultures and future should also be recognized, respected and given the opportunity to thrive. And the hands that have experienced exclusion, racism or injustice can also become hands that heal, connect and help build a better future together. Harambeecouver welcomes Vancouverites, visitors, artists, families, youth, community organizations, cultural groups, vendors and partners from all backgrounds to celebrate, learn, connect and build together.
